Q and A on Penny Auction Software #19

Q. Penny auction software provider promises to deliver 10,000 visitors to my new penny auction website. Could it be the real story behind this?

A. Theoretically, receiving 10,000 visitors to your new website is possible. However, the tactic used for such a service may result in an automated service that manipulates the search engines.

These kinds of services work as follows; service owners have a network of “bots” as large as one million+ computers. A “bot” means that computers are “infected” with special software, although not harmful like a virus, that waits for a signal from the “central” computer to send requests to specific address.

Such services, as they are actually fake, are "very cheap" - 3-4 dollars per 10,000 or even 50,000 "visitors".  You could potentially see a huge number of new visitors at your Google Analytics account, but you will not see any customer registrations or bid packages purchased at your penny auction website.
