Q and A on Penny Auction Software #20
Q. Do you have penny auction software for Mac?
A. Our post in last Friday was dedicated to the question – is your software downloadable.
And in this article we discussed the difference between the software, what works on your personal computer, and the software what should be installed to the internet-server.
The functional difference is obvious – the program, installed to you PC (or Mac) can be used only by you. The program, or software package, installed properly at internet-server, is visible via Internet to all who know internet-address of this resource.
So, if to answer to the question, brought in the beginning, then we should separate your personal Macintosh computer from the internet-server, what is working under OS X operating system (operating system for Macs).
It is clear, that penny auction software cannot operate at personal computer. Personal computer, also Mac, can be used only by end-user of penny auction website. If penny auction software is made professionally, website will work in Mac’s web browser Safari without issues.
If to speak about internet-server on OS X, then theoretically it is possible to install over Mac OS X Lion web server software Apache and such computer will be possible to use as internet-server, but it is not a mainstream of internet-server software. Linux (and Windows) server software are mostly used for internet-servers. Because of this probably there are no any penny auction software for Mac OS X on the market.
